Happy Birthday, Cutesome!

This is it. My baby's first year is over. :( Serious melancholy going on here because there is just nothing like a baby's first year. Although I absolutely ADORE the stage he is currently in and look forward to all the amazing stages to come, it breaks my heart that the previous year is already over. I can certainly understand why people just keep having babies.

Here are a few pictures of my super sweet birthday boy:

Cutesome thinks he's so clever now that he can stand up. He loves being able to get around better and always looks at me like he's saying, "Check me out; I'm AMAZING!".

Cutesome's first 6 months were really tough, but since then he has been a wonderful, happy baby. He is generally pleasant unless he needs sleep, food or a diaper change. We feel lucky that such a wonderful spirit has been added to our family.

He loves this little rocking chair at my mom's house. This chair was around even when I was a kid!
Crawling is so cute! He does this strange crawling thing where his right foot stays pretty much tucked in under his bottom. I think he does it this way because he learned to tuck it under himself when he learned to sit up by himself. Maybe it makes him feel like he could just quickly sit up any time the terrain gets too rocky!

There's just only so long that kids will let you put stuff like this on them and then take pictures!
